WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!

Camping and Caravaning

Bridge Holme Caravan Site

Greenberfield Ln, Barnoldswick BB18 5LJ, UK – 07813 779801

Small sized caravan and camping site. I stayed for a couple of nights in my tent and it has everything you need toilets, showers, washing up area. And Electricity. The management are friendly and welcoming. It is situated just of a beautiful country lane. With some stunning scenery just on it's doorstep. Another bonus is it is just minutes away from the town and local shops etc. I would definitely stay again.

We have just had a fantastic weekend at this site. A very clean site, well looked after. We recieved a very warm welcome from the site owners. It was great watching the goats in the pen, next to us. The chickens produced very tasty eggs. A 5-10 minute walk to a local park proved to be great fun. We will definitely be going back. 🤗🤗👍👍

Lower Greenhill Caravan Park

Kelbrook Rd, Salterforth, Barnoldswick BB18 5TG, UK – 01282 813067

Very friendly site. We were booked onto the rally field but when I said I would prefer a hard standing the owner noticed someone had left early and had a hard standing pitch. She told us would be updating the shower and toilet block next year.

Friendly pleasant owners, clean site and very reasonable site fee's, we will be back.

Thornton Hall Country Park

Thornton-in-Craven, Skipton BD23 3TS, UK – 01282 841148

The kids just love it! All the staff I've spoken to love their jobs and are extremely enthusiastic with a sincere passion about the animals and the farm. The safari is very enjoyable. The animal feeding is handled well so that all the kids get a go. The playgrounds are also popular. The quads offer some excitement for the older kids as well. A great day out for the kids and a relaxing one for the parents.

Spent a lovely afternoon here - my little boy must have gone down the slide a hundred times! Great programme of activities in the week for toddlers and cheaper entry. My son has no interest in animals but there is still plenty to do with the maze, sandpit and ride on tractors. Restaurant serves nice food and is reasonably priced. Outdoor playground is great and we enjoyed riding on the go karts! Highly recommended.
